Target Audience
Family Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Primary Care Nurses, Social Workers, Pharmacists, Students, Residents, Geriatricians, and Other Health Professionals.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this activity, the learners will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of contemporary issues in elderly healthcare and caregiving.
- Describe strategies for fostering resilience and self-renewal in both elderly patients and their caregivers.
- Integrate trauma-informed care principles into their practice when caring for elderly patients.
- Summarize new guidelines on osteoporosis and their implications for elderly patient management.
- Describe the role of immunization and effectively communicate to patients and caregivers.
- Implement strategies to improve primary care experiences and facilitate referrals for elderly patients.

This one-credit-per-hour Group-Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by McMaster University, Continuing Professional Development for up to 5.75 Mainpro+ credits.
