Contemporary Acupuncture Advances: Clinical Innovations in Complex Low Back Pain
Target Audience
Health Care Professionals who integrate acupuncture in a musculoskeletal medicine practice, such as Licensed Acupuncturists, Chiropractors, Naturopathic Doctors, Osteopaths, Physicians, Physiotherapists, Podiatrists, and Registered Massage Therapists.
Learning Objectives
By attending this activity, participants will be able to:
- Develop and implement time-efficient and highly effective management strategies for both acute and chronic low back pain clients.
- Engage in an in-depth analysis of the biomechanics, anatomy and physiology surrounding elusive low back pain disorders.
- Develop innovative and progressive treatment protocols utilizing foundational mobility, balance and strength principles woven seamlessly with the science and art of Contemporary Neurofunctional Acupuncture.
- Accurately and systematically determine the unique root cause of an individual’s low back pain, by assessing subjective and objective features such as posture, load and movement, in order to successfully resolve and prevent low back pain.

The Continuing Professional Development Office (CPD) at McMaster University is fully accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Continuing Medical Education (CACME) to provide CFPC Mainpro+ and RCPSC Maintenance of Certification (MOC) study credits for Continuing Medical Education.
This activity is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and approved by the Continuing Professional Development Office (CPD) at McMaster University. You may claim a maximum of 6.25 MOC Section 1 hours. Credits are automatically calculated.
