Target Audience
Family Physicians, Family Medicine Residents, Physician Assistants, Physician Assistant Trainees, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Primary Healthcare, General Internists, and all Other Health Care Professionals.
Learning Objectives
By attending this activity, participants will be able to diagnose and implement appropriate management for common rheumatologic conditions.
More specifically, participants will be able to:
- Recall practical approaches, including vital clinical pearls, to common rheumatology presentations.
- Appropriately investigate, diagnose and manage common rheumatologic conditions.
- Summarize common conditions, as well as less common but critical conditions encountered in rheumatology.
- Recognize recurrent fever/autoinflammatory syndromes in children and appropriately refer these patients.
- Perform musculoskeletal physical examinations to detect common pathologies.
- Perform common musculoskeletal injections to treat common ailments.

The Continuing Professional Development Office (CPD) at McMaster University is fully accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Continuing Medical Education (CACME) to provide CFPC Mainpro+ and RCPSC Maintenance of Certification (MOC) study credits for Continuing Medical Education.
This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada. It has been certified by the Continuing Professional Development Office (CPD) at McMaster University for up to 6.0 Mainpro+ credits.
This activity is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and approved by the Continuing Professional Development Office (CPD) at McMaster University. You may claim a maximum of 6.0 MOC Section 1 hours. Credits are automatically calculated.
