Teresa Chan receives international teaching award
Teresa Chan is being recognized for her work examining how health professionals can best use social media to increase health literacy in both physicians and the lay public.
McMaster University researcher and educator Teresa Chan is receiving the 2022 Universitas 21 Health Sciences Group (HSG) Teaching Excellence Award.
Chan, associate professor of medicine and associate dean of continuing professional development for the Faculty of Health Sciences, was recognized for her work examining how health professionals can best use social media to increase health literacy in both physicians and the lay public.
The McMaster University Scholar has previously received several awards for her work in faculty development and online education research, including the recent 2022 AFMC Award for Outstanding Contribution to Faculty Development in Canada.
The Faculty of Health Sciences in an active member of the Universitas 21 Health Sciences Group, a global university network of health sciences staff and students that includes members from 18 institutions worldwide.
